Avatar not the airbender

What movie are you lookin' for end of this year? I remember the time when i watch Lord of the Rings Trilogy every year end for 3 years, it's more like attendin' an event than watching a movie, which is fine with me. So let me share with you what i'm lookin' forward to end of the year, the trailer below might interest you as it did for me...

Well if you guessed it's the movie '2012' which will show this month, you're wrong, even though, that's one of the biggest movie comin' this year. That was the movie that was on top of my list of interest weeks ago until I learn about this movie call 'Avatar'. If you're thinking the Avatar which is an anime, I never watched that but I know the character,...you know...the bald kid with some weird symbols on his head.

So now back to the topic, this Avatar is written, produced and directed by James Cameron, he created this story and fantasy around 14 years ago and kept it in the closet as there's no way the technology at that time could bring his vision to the screen, and now, when it's all possible, here it is. When James Cameron makes a movie, there's no question it's gonna be a great movie, his previous work includes, Aliens, Terminator, Terminator 2, The Abyss, Titanic, and True Lies.

Enough of the talking, here's the trailer, judge for yourself.

PS3 Slim and PSP Go coming soon to Malaysia

PS3 hasn't been selling well worldwide compare to the other consoles, probably the reason was Blu-ray that still doesn't sell well till this day compare to DVD, it's expensive to make etc. We're seein' Blu-ray players going down in price and it will go down more next year. As expected PS3 will follow it's predecessor in the Slim department, and so far PS3 Slim is sellin well, smaller and cheaper, even not for gamin' and as a Blu-ray player, it's very affordable, so when will it be available in Malaysia?

Slashgear said that it will arrive in Malaysia 31 October 2009, obviously, slower than any there country, as i've suspected, well it's not that bad, it's the game pricing that slows down PS3 sales anyway. Approximate price will be RM1,299 and it will come in the traditional black color.

With PS3 Slim accessories and other goodies, another new product launching with PS3 Slim in Malaysia will be the PSP Go, one of the coolest lookin' portable gamin' device i've seen, price will be around RM1,099.

If you're interested you can attend the launch event at Kuala Lumpur, 1 Utama Shopping Mall

Paranormal Activity

Any of you that love horror and ghost movies, this may be one to check out. It's not a big Hollywood/internationally release movie it seems, and in order for it to launch worldwide, you will have to help them get 1 million votes, hmm interesting, a movie launch decide by you. If you are a horror fan, read on and watch the trailer.

This movie is not currently available where i'm from, which is sad. All I can do it demand it at their site, but not sure it will work or not, maybe with your help, it will. As a fan of these types of movie myself, i think it will be interesting to watch it in the cinema with horror fans.

After watching the trailer it kinda reminds me of the movie 'Blair Witch Project' long time ago, not all may like this type of genre, for me i think it's great, I think the idea that it was captured with a home video camera, makes you beliVery original style for some but i think i've seen the same style for a 70's movie 'Cannibal Holocaust' (don't ask). The same as, COPS and World's Greatest Home Videos.

So if you like such movies, please head over to their site Paranormal Activity to vote for it to launch nationwide if it's not available at your local cinema yet. You can also support this event by posting this at Facebook

Sam Raimi to direct Warcraft movie

The years of rumors are true, but it's rather a question of when and not 'will?'.

The adaptation of the widely popular game Warcraft will be coming to the big screens in years to come and Sam Raimi, director the Spider man trilogies will helm the movie. I've always imagine that Peter Jackson may pick this up or maybe Blizzard may consider him since one of his movies are quite close to the Warcraft universe, i'm talkin about Lord of the Rings. With the technology today, it's safe to say that any game, comics, cartoon, etc. can be made into a movie. I guess Sam Raimi's visual is not bad, we'll have to wait and see..

At least 1 good news coming in relations to the Blizzards' bad decisions over no LAN capabilities for their upcoming sequel, Starcraft II and Diablo 3.

19 is the new record courtesy of Transformers 2

Here it is, 19 tickets for the movie Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, my current record to break if that's possible. Hmm what other movie can actually make this possible, it's rare, probably Transformers 3 if it happens.

Speakin' of Transformers 2, hmm I felt there's somethin' missin' in the finale, here's my take on it, those who haven't seen the movie, possible spoilers alert

The movie was good but it's not really greater than the first one by that much. It's really cool to see more well known Transformers in this movie but the story is just too much and unnecessary with the fallen and primes, probably too soon or just plain complicated even for a Transformers fan like me.

The first scene of the movie was spot on of what i'm expectin' to see, and that's just the introduction of what they were doin in those 2 years workin' with humans to fight Decepticons. With that first impression I can expect this movie to be a great popcorn movie. But it was weird that it wasn't like that in the end, the introduction is far more excitin to me than the endin'.

The fight between Optimus Prime and 3 Decepticons is good, and the fight between Bumble Bee and the red thingy is aight, the fight with the twins and Devastator not so very much. I mean that's just all of the excitement you can get which I can remember. Base on the introduction I actually expect the finale to be at least twice as exciting but it's not, and i'm eager to see how would the autobots defeat Devastator? They didn't, he was defeated with a single human shot from the ship, what a waste of what could be a great battle between Devastator and multiple Autobots.

And the appearance of Sideswipe is good, the introduction shows him to be a very worthy robot against the Decepticons, he just look mean, and you expect to see him in action in the end but no I didn't see him in action after that first scene, other than the few robot battles i've mentioned above, you don't see much of robots battle robots, I felt I see more of humans and tanks and planes against Decepticons more, and the Autobots didn't do much other than protecting humans and Sam with the Matrix, don't see much fightin with them.

When the Decepticons reach earth in groups, I'm stoked to see a war, but it's Decepticons attacking them and humans fight back, now that's a bit of disappointment, they can just switch the introductin scene with the end.

Good to see they include Soundwave in the movie which is one of the favorites, although he doesn't do much, i do like his Decepticon voice, hmm just somethin about it.. :) I think people actually wanted to see this for the eye candy effects more than a serious story, well this movie doesn't need to be that serious, just robots fightin each other, that's fine with me, they can just take out the fallen and primes story line, really it is not the most important thing in the Transformers' universe, that's why I sense the long scene with the primes explainin the history of the primes, the pace has been compromise, not as fast pace action movie as I thought, a lot of explosions though, mostly done by humans, oh well..

I agree that addin' some comedy sense to a movie is an option, an action movie like this won't be a bad movie if there's no comedy in it, we went to see action not comedy anyway, take out the comedy put in the action, that will work better. But it's ok, the only problem is the jokes are lame in most case, the twins are annoyin and juvenile, i'm fine with that, the robot humping Megan Fox's leg, what da hell was that, and showing devastator's balls? oh.. geez please get rid of those unnecessary jokes, you're just makin your movie a joke.

Maybe the good news is, the good stuff is saved for last, will there be a Transformers 3, I think it will happen, seems to me this movie is quiet successful.

So overall is a must see movie, why not if you love the first one, you would like this one too, maybe i'm just expecting too much of it that the movie pales in comparison hehehe. I had a good time watching with 18 others, one of the most grueling & interestin.... event to plan...
